20160405-07 Six Friends in Kaohsiung
Jacky is one of my best friends in high school, he’s studying at the
National Kaohsiung First University of Science and Technology (NKFUST). When
the bus arrived in Kaohsiung, Owen and I got off while the rest heading north
to Taipei. One month before our graduation trip, I was planning this small
extra trip for myself as a vacation, I always wanted to visit Jacky, and I’m
glad I could finally make it. Owen was born in Kaohsiung, he was willing to be
my tour guide and I was eager to introduce Jacky to him. Although they didn’t
know each other till they met, they both had quite a lot of friends in common,
so they made it not just a trip for the three of us, but with three more girls
from NKFUST, the only thing I knew about them was that it’s not going to be
just a trip, but more than that. Jacky was so kind, he came to where I dropped
off from the bus and picked me up, soon we went to a famous restaurant called 楊寶寶
which offered a variety of traditional Taiwanese food, I liked it very much. We were thinking where to go, Jacky then took me downtown, a wharf then a mountain that is known for wild monkeys, however I didn’t see any since it was late at night. At first I felt chilling but soon the temperature dropped, I could hardly stand the cold. he took me to a secret place which was said to be a perfect spot for couples, we had to crawl through a winding path with bushes. There were only the two of us, we just kept talking like time didn’t exist. We still had to go back to his apartment or we would not look too good when we met our “new friends” tomorrow.
Frankly to say, I was feeling a little nervous about meeting new
friends, but Bee, Chloe and Ying, they were such people I could easily get
along with, there was no ice to break at all. After breakfast, we went to the
campus to take photos, they were all professional posters and I looked like
just a clown. Fun fact, they had a kind of Ubike system on the campus
exclusively for the students, their university was huge, you can even ride
motorcycles, so the school provided free bikes for those who need to catch
classes from colleges to colleges.
Later, we decided to go to Tainan other than
to explore their own turf, it sounds strange but I’m cool with that. It was
burning hot and we had to ride for 2 hours to get to Tainan. I think we just
spent too much time on the motorcycles. In Tainan, you just eat, eat, then
still eat. Also, we went to some cultural and creative places.
When the sun was
going to go under the horizontal line, we were at the beach trying to see as
much as we can of the precious moment.
At night, we had beef noodle and bought
some puddings to a mountain. Although the mountain was not tall, I liked the
atmosphere we shared together. It was quite late, Owen couldn’t catch the last MRT
to go back, so Jacky just sent him back to his home.
We truly had a big day,
everyone was tired. When Jacky and I went back, we still chatted on bed till 4
a.m., the morning when I had to go back, we went to a class together, the
professor found out my identity which caused some side stories, what a fuss.
