20160625 College Commencement
My
parents came to Taipei in the early morning, also 許阿姨、廷嘉、嘉容 (the Hsu Family) were there, It was very heartwarming to see them coming all
the way from Tainan. Although we just met 2 weeks ago for 庭嘉’s graduation, it was so nice to see them again. Since
my ceremony was held at 2 pm, they wanted to see me before then, so we had
lunch together at LAF Burger. I left early because my ceremony was about to
start, it seemed that I cared about the ceremony too much. Most of my
classmates didn’t show up then, I knew some of them already gathered to take
pictures in the morning. I was kind of being left out. Outside was about 36
degrees Celsius, I gradually realized that it is a bad idea to follow the
school’s schedule which commanded us staying under the sun for nearly 1 hour.
The majority were already at the stadium as it was so much cooler.
When
the ceremony started, so much laughter abruptly turned into silence. The
highlight was that each one held a yellow ribbon and threw it to different
directions, the farther the better. Finally, we had gone through the formality.
The
Hsu, my parents, my other friends were waiting to take pictures with me,
despite the fact that every graduate was sweating, we still grabbed the chance
to take as much pictures as we can.
My
internship will start next Friday, time to go back home and rest before getting
overwhelmed. Some friends from the globe may come to Taiwan this summer, I’m
excited to see them here.
My two
German friends, Sabine and Melli, also came to celebrate my graduation, I was
very pleasured to see them last time in Taiwan, later on they are setting out
to travel around Asia. It’s hard to believe 4 months passed within a blink of
an eye, we had so much fun and memory together, I am going to miss that a ton.
Also, Johannes couldn’t come but he left something for me, it's German Haribos and cookie.
I
gotta concede that time has eventually made its way into presence, it's a
bitter-sweet day. Thought the ceremony was nothing more than a formality, I was
wrong. Deep down, it is a valid reason we all gather here, and your smile will
be the best commemorative token until we see each other again. Let's not take
today for granted, I do not take your smile for granted.
