Day trip to Bamberg
We have no class on Friday and our school
thoughtfully organized an activity on every Friday for us. Today is a day trip
to Bamberg, one hour from Nürnberg by train. Since there is a limit of
registration, not all the students could join. But when I woke up this morning,
it was raining outside and some people decided not to go due to this. Bamberg
is a countryside city, I saw a lot of farms and small mountain from the window
of the train.
One of the biggest differences between Germany and Taiwan is that
their population density is quite low. Unlike Taiwan, you may bump into a bunch
of people on each street corner. As what I expected, Bamberg is a city with
abundant history.

Gray sky |
It didn’t kill our time from the train station to the city
center. And then we had a guided tour through Bamberg. The tour guide was humorous
but he talked too much about European history, I could barely understand him…

the church couln't be built too perfectly, it's seen as an offense to God, so they made made some flaw on purpose. |
when he dismissed us, we could finally find a place and had our lunch.

This is special! Never tried this before |
I met a
guy from Jordan and I was quite shocked that we lived in the same residence. He
can’t drink alcohol and pork due to his religion, I guess Germany is not a
proper country for him. And the language he is using is probably the most
difficult for us to understand… but I still made out of my way to try the most
famous beer in this town- smoke beer!
|
I like it, smoke beer |
Though it’s 5% alcohol inside but the
taste is strong. Once you drink it, the smoke you feel in the mouth will not be
forgotten! No wonder there were so many people in the bar waiting to give it a
shot. As we went down the street, there was an outdoor music show, although
they are all Germans, they sang American songs and sounded like native
speakers.
|
even kids wanted to sing together! |
I love it when they sing Avicii- Hey Brother. I was very amazed and,
suddenly it was time to go to the meeting restaurant. They had booked the
places inside to let us have a typical dinner. My first time trying German pork
is today.

the right one is called "dumpling" but it tastes so weird! I don't like it anyway.. |
It costs me more than 10 euros but they leave me no choice. It was very impressive and I could barely finish it on my own because the size is too big! With another bottle of beer, that’s so called LIFE.
