Our host, Anabel, my dear from the awesome project team, went
there earlier with Kathi, also my dear friend from the team, so she picked us up then we went to a local restaurant
to have dinner. I met her parents, Joseph and Sabina, again and I was so glad
to see them. Penny (her dog) was also there. We did not do much thing on
Wednesday night. The next day, we had to wake up early and got dressed then
went to a big house party. More of her friends came on the morning including
Santiago, Dennis, Marion, Konstanze, Michael, Mila, Franzi, Leo and Stephan. We
were such a big group! Everybody dressed up as what they wanted to be, I dressed
as a sexy nurse.
It was once my dream to dress like a girl, so I would say it
was a dream came true. The problem was, I didn’t feel good when I woke up,
thought I caught a cold from last night. But Thursday we had to drink beer from
morning until midnight. I drank very slowly during the day. We went to another
place such as the crazy crowded street where people climbed up the street sign and
threw craps onto the ground.

I got worse since that day, thankfully I brought
my medicine with me and kept drinking water a lot, I had a terrible night. The next
day, I could barely speak, my voice was so gone.

But I still went to the forest
with Anabel and Kathi, me and Kathi rode bikes while Anabel was jogging. It was
really a beautiful place, so wild so natural. Even the wild elks and pigs, that
was so amazing. We had lots of talks when we were roaming in the forest.
After we
went back, I still felt not good and I remembered I went to get some more sleep
again.
Then we went out to some bars and danced there in the evening. There came Patrick and
Matthias, finally. Patrick wore a mask so I didn’t recognize him in the
beginning, but this tall guy could only be him.

Other people went to another
party place until 6 in the next morning while we just stayed outside and went
back. And the fourth day in Köln, Anabel and the other Germans went to a big
party which you had to buy the tickets in advance, but I didn’t, so I stayed at
her house and took Kyle and Matthias to the forest again because they wanted to
see the animals. In the afternoon we went to city center and met the Erasmus.

We
were all excited to see each other including Iker, Marianna, Robyn, Olya,
Rodrigo and Diana, they all dressed very cute and I was a flower not the sexy
nurse “Jenny”. Just counted the Germans and the Erasmus, we were almost 20
people in a group, and we were going to meet some more such as Ruben in the
pub. We were just too many people and I didn’t like to wait for others to come
so I decided to go to meet Anabel and the others with Matthias and Marion. Since
they just went to a big party in the morning, they were all exhausted at the
moment, they went back quite early, left us after some beer. So we three tried
to go to the crazy street and find the Erasmus, but we couldn’t as the people
there were as many as hell. We went back after getting some water and food. The
fifth day we stayed at home all day and enjoyed a regional parade just right in
front of the house. That was the carnival I expected. People played music, gave
candy, flower, everything was wonderful, even the weather.

At night, we were
invited to Anabel’s neighbor’s place to have some food and beer, it was
fantastic that they had their own bar! There I met an American woman, Melody
and her husband. Melody is from the same region as Kyle in Pennsylvania, what a
small world, and her husband likes to cook Chinese food. Also there was an old
woman called Hosi. She didn’t speak English so I had to speak in German, I really
tried my best. It was a lot of fun there, Kyle played his guitar with an old German
guy, we enjoyed Melody’s homemade cupcake.
Later on, we went to a club just few
minutes away from the house and drank some Kölsch beer (local beer). I came
back with Patrick and we had quite a lot of talk went we came back, he is
leaving the next day and going on his trip to Morocco for 2 weeks, so I had to
use the last chance to say thank you to him. Matthias also left to his hometown
and won’t come back till March. The last day in Köln, I sent them off in the
morning, no crying, and then I went to visit Melody again, her husband cooked a
spicy Chinese food I guessed it was 辣子雞丁. We had a great
time there and then Joseph drove us to take the bus. But the next day I will be
going to Freiburg with Caro and Kyle again, I am such a hard traveler!
