Just one day after I came back from Köln, I set out to Freiburg with
Kyle. Caro, my German friend from the awesome project work team, invited me to
visit her city, her dad happened to come to Nürnberg because she had an surgery appointment, her dad is called
Klaus, he drove us from Nürnberg to Löffingen,
where she lives, and he didn’t speak English so we always had to speak German
to him. My German is, no doubt, still has lots of troubles in conversation. It
took us just 4 hours and we had a nice, lovely dinner with her family. Her
house is different from Anabel’s, only two stories but very wide, like a big
square, and the house is decorated with woods.

Her mom’s name is Ena, a very
nice lady, also didn’t speak English. Her mom’s cooking is awesome as Anabel’s
mom—Sabina. We had mushroom with chicken and salad with home-made sauce. Later
on, Kyle performed his guitar and they had more than 3 instruments! They took
trumpet, flute and another guitar out which impressed me a lot. The first night
we just played a family board game called “trouble” and it took us more than 1
and a half hour to finish.

The next day, we had a lavish breakfast then Caro
showed us the city. First, we went to a famous lake—Titisee. The surface of the
lake was frozen but not that deep so we couldn’t get closer.

Btw, Freiburg is
the birthplace of cuckoo
clock, there were lots of fancy clocks in the stores,
the clock can be up to 2000 euros. I also met two Taiwanese girls in a bakery,
one of the girls will even take the same flight as me. We then drove to
Freiburg city center, we were planning to go to a bathing complex but we didn’t
make it. The weather was perfect, the buildings were my type, she took us to a
local bar/restaurant to try their beer, we even booked a guided tour about how
they made the beer!! That must be an awesome experience.
The first time I had
coffee in starbucks was also in Freiburg.
We talked about history, love story,
future and so on. We climbed up to a hill where we saw the city view and the black forest, that was a mind-blowing moment!
The second night we had pizza and played a local card game—CEGO. It was a lot of fun, similar
to 橋牌. We played for 2 hours since it was very exciting.

Then we watched
a movie—cruel intentions, Caro’s favorite. The third day, we woke up late in
the morning, had a lavish brunch then proceeded to Switzerland, Caro’s
favorite, where the rich people live and the country of chocolate. It took us 2
hours to drove there, the city center of Switzerland was a crazy place, I could
obviously sense the smell of rich people, from their dressings, cars, food
prices. I couldn’t imagine how rich they were.

We took local train to a mountain,
2 hours per person cost 8 euros, that was insane and ridiculous. Anyway, all
the crazy things became nothing when we reached the mountain since I was too
stunned by the Alps and the bird view to the city.

But we couldn’t stay long as
out tickets were only valid for 2 hours. But we did take a lot of good pictures
there. We went down to the city again, Caro took us to a supermarket
where we could buy some famous chocolates. I spent almost 20 euros on the
chocolate but I wanted to give them to my friends. On Friday, we went to city
center again because of the beer tour, the guy who worked for the restaurant
seemed very happy to explain how they made the beer without reserve.

The
process of making a good beer is complicated, plus it was in German so I barely
understood. We also had lunch in that restaurant, I had some typical Swebbische
dishes.

Afterwards, we were supposed to take bus at 13:30 but we didn’t see our
bus came, that time I just realized that we booked the wrong date! Our ticket
was on Saturday, the bus driver didn’t give a shit and closed the door with no
mercy. He screwed our hope, left me speechless. We had to make another plan but
the train ticket was too expensive, finally we decided to stay at Caro’s place
one more night.
We went back to the city again and enjoyed the sunshine, trying to get rid of the bad mood.

Her parents must feel awkward because we just said goodbye to
them in the morning. At night, we had some talks then we all went to sleep. Caro introduced a new game to us.
Today, they took us to the train station to Freiburg Hbf, it was snowing outside, we looked at the view from the window of the train.
Kyle and I took the bus back to Nürnberg, we transited in Heidelberg, a
small but beautiful city for one hour.

Finally I went back to my room.
