Last week, my friend Jackson asked me to be the co-host of an AIA
event “culture fair” and I took the challenge. It’ll be my first time being a
host. Today I got sick, I was too sick to attend the class in the afternoon and
the prof ever took the roll call!! Anyway, I got a bit better after sleeping
for 3 hours in my room then I went to the classroom where we had our event to
rehearse. I met some more exchange students there but the same problem was that
I still couldn’t remember their name. We began 30 minutes later than the
schedule due to the lack of people. We started with a club song “revolution”
and Jackson was a rapper, I followed the rhythm and sang the lyrics. “This is
the event from AIA, culture fair, hope you enjoy it, now put your hands up!”. We
did attract their attention successfully, with some interactions. The event is
mainly for the foreigners to present their motherland, some did it quite boring,
I could feel that they didn’t take it seriously. However there were still some
who did their presentation in a humorous way, like brought some games, beer,
songs etc. They put some effort into our event.

We also let them prepare foods
in any kinds. The Germans prepared “Sauerkraut”, “sausages” and of course,
beer. They found a German restaurant in Taipei. Others prepared breads,
chocolate milk or some snakes.

During the eating time I met some new Taiwanese
people and since they didn’t know me, they thought that I was also an
exchange!! Even my face doesn’t look like local?? I then made fun of myself,
saying I am from Hong Kong, guess what, they believed what I said!!! Till the
end I still didn’t tell them the truth. It was a wonderful night but my body
felt even worse since then,,
